It's not the first time St. Louis has attempted a Fringe Festival but the city claims to be ready this time due to a more collaborative theater community and more adventuresome audiences. Local actor and festival executive director, Emily Piro, announced Thursday that a five-day St. Lou Fringe will take place June 21-25. "Connecting brave artists with bold audiences" is the concept behind the more than 100 performances to take place along the intersection of the Grand Center and Locust Business District areas.
Piro stresses that artists do not need to have an act completely figured out. The application is about making a commitment to produce a show. More information on the festival and submitting (including application) can be found on the website - stlfringe.com. And, while the details of SUBMIT TO FRINGE are currently under wraps, information will be emerging in coming weeks. Folks can watch the website, twinkle the twitter (StLouFringe), or stalk the f'book (St Lou Fringe) as the 15th nears. Inquiries, concerns, and praises may be directed to 314-643-7853(STLF) or buzz@stlfringe.com.
